* WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?

Not till after I started DJ’ing.  I dabbled in beats a little bit when I used to rap but nowhere near where I am now.

* HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO MUSIC?

Very much so.  Moms played a lot of jazz when I was younger & it’s always had its effect on me.

* WHERE DOES YOUR INSPIRATION COME FROM?

This will sound weird, but it determines on the mood I’m in.  The weird part is, I always end up making a beat that sounds like the polar opposite of how I’m feeling at the moment.  Some of my darkest beats were when I was the happiest, and vice versa.  It’s odd, and I wish I could figure it out haha.

* YOUR BEATS ARE SO COOL AND LAID BACK IS YOUR PERSONALITY AS COOL AND LAID BACK AS YOUR BEATS?
Haha yea, I really avoid trouble as much as possible.  Which is why people rarely see my face.

* IM TEMPTED TO ASK WHICH IS UR FAVE BEAT BUT I WON’T... YOU ALREADY KNOW MINE SO FAR IS A NEW BEGINNING OFF OF DIG2... SO OK WHICH BEAT TOOK YOU THE LONGEST TO COMPLETE?
LOL!

I’d have to say right now GOLD took me the longest to complete.  I worked on it off and on for about two months.  It still isn’t where I’d like it to be at but maybe one day I’ll fully complete it.

* WHY DID YOU TAKE THAT HIATUS ON US? / WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO COME BACK?

Eh...next question.  LOL nah just playing.  At the time, DIG2 was about 3-4 separate projects.  I had big plans for these so I hyped them up HEAVILY to my peers & elsewhere.  I got almost little to no response about any of it.  I felt that I had proved that I had some talent...enough to be recognized for it at least a little bit, but I got almost nothing.  So it discouraged me...felt like everyone was sleeping & no one cared.  Couple that up with little to no downloads and that resulted in me deciding to just put it all out as one project and quit/go back to DJ’ing full time.
I honestly had no intention to come back at all.  I had a lot of people telling me to not quit but what stuck with me was meeting REL, a producer/all around hip hop head from San Francisco, and a dude whose work I truly respect.  He told me “Don’t let it get to you.  You got something; you just gotta work on it.  Keep going cause I want to hear more!”  A producer whose work I truly feel and respect and HE is telling ME that he wants to hear more of MY stuff.  So I realized I couldn’t let sleeping midgets become giants...only I could control my output, not them.  Sorry if that sounds cocky or like a diss to my listeners lol.

* WHEN I LISTEN TO YOUR BEATS I FEEL LIKE I AM BACK IN THE 90'S WHEN MUSIC HAD SO MUCH MORE MEANING AND DEPTH. IS IT YOUR INTENT TO TRY AND BRING THAT FEEL BACK?

Yea, with me and Dokter Whu, both of our styles take a lot from the 90’s.  With me though, I’m not trying to necessarily “bring the 90’s back”, I honestly think that’s kinda cheezy, especially with some heads talking about how they’re bringing the 90’s back when they weren’t even born TILL the 90’s.  My whole agenda when I started making beats was to make something I felt first, then let everyone else feel it.  I do draw a lot of inspiration when it comes to drums & samples from the 90’s sound though.

* DO YOU MAKE YOUR BEATS IN SPURTS, DO YOU MAKE THEM WHEN THEY COME TO YOU, OR CAN YOU JUST SIT AND BANG SOME OUT IN LIKE A COUPLE OF DAYS?

Shoot I wish I could get them out in a couple days LOL.  After much trial and error I realized that all I can do is work on a beat when I felt like it.  The feeling HAS to be there otherwise my output is seriously impeded.  That’s why I couldn’t sign with a label or work around an artist full time...I don’t do well with deadlines haha.
